Veteran Nigerian singer, Baba Fryo, has issued a stern warning to rising comedian-turned-singer Nasboi, accusing him of stealing lyrics from one of his classic hits.

The controversy centres around the use of a particular line in Nasboi’s trending song, which has quickly gained popularity across social media platforms.

Baba Fryo, known for his unique style and memorable hits in the late 90s and early 2000s, expressed displeasure over Nasboi’s use of the phrase “Dem go dey Po, Dem go dey den ge den ge” in his new release.

This line, according to Baba Fryo, closely resembles a phrase from one of his own songs, sparking concerns of intellectual property theft.

In a video he personally shared, Baba Fryo didn’t mince words as he addressed the situation.

“War is coming,” the veteran singer warned, making it clear that he would not tolerate what he sees as an infringement on his creative work.

He emphasised the importance of respecting the efforts of those who paved the way in the music industry.

Nasboi, who transitioned from comedy to music with considerable success, has yet to respond to Baba Fryo’s allegations.

However, fans and industry insiders are closely watching to see how the rising star will handle the situation.

Nasboi’s new track, despite the controversy, has continued to garner attention, with many praising its catchy beat and relatable lyrics.

The line in question, “Dem go dey Po, Dem go dey den ge den ge,” has become a viral sensation, with fans creating challenges and memes around it.

The veteran singer hinted at potential legal action if Nasboi does not acknowledge the alleged infringement and take steps to rectify the situation.
