After a day in captivity, the captors released Patrick Mba, the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, and his wife.

The commissioner and his wife were released on Saturday, Persecondnews learnt.

A government source said: “The kidnapped Commissioner of Youth Development and his wife have been released today. To God be the glory. The state government will soon issue a statement on that.”

Gunmen, Persecondnews recalls, had on Friday kidnapped the commissioner, alongside his wife, along the Edo-Kogi Expressway, on their way to Abuja to attend the wedding of the daughter of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, which was held on Saturday.

They were reportedly travelling with other passengers in a commercial Toyota Sienna bus.

The commissioner’s aide was, however, killed during the attack.

Details shortly…
