Paris 2024: Nigeria’s Kanyisola Ajayi defeats Olympic champion to qualify for 100m men’s semis

Nigeria’s Kanyisola Ajayi is through to the semifinals of the men’s 100m heat, defeating Olympic champion Lamont Marcell of Italy on a cold Saturday morning in Paris.

Persecondnews correspondent covering the games reports that Ajayi put everyone on notice with his breathtaking performance to win heat 5 of the men’s 100m in a time of 10.02s (-0.3).

Ajayi defeated the Olympic champion, Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who finished 2nd in 10.05s, with Ghana’s Abdul-Rasheed Saminu coming in 3rd in a time of 10.06s.
