Olympics: Team Nigeria Exit Women’s Discus Event In 1st Round

Team Nigeria’s trio of African champions—Ashley Anumba, Chioma Onyekwere, and Obiageri Amaechi—has exited the Paris 2024 Olympics after the first round of the Women’s Discus.

Persecondnews correspondent covering the Olympics in Paris reports that the duo of Chioma Onyekwere and Obiageri Amaechi made history as part of an impressive trio that represented Nigeria in the Discus event at the Olympics.

Both Chioma and Obiageri finished 15th and 16th with marks of 60.78m and 45.45m, respectively, missing out on making the final of Women’s Discus, while Anumba finished in the 14th spot.

In the overall standings, Onyekwere, Anumba, and Amaechi placed 21st, 29th, and 32nd, respectively.
