It was not a good outing for the D’Tigress on Day 6 of the Olympics in Paris, as they succumbed 75-54 to France, the host nation.
The Nigerian girls in the first quarter trailed the French side by nine points but fought gallantly to reduce the deficit to just four points, ending the quarter 24-20 in favour of France.
D’Tigress started the break trailing the host country by 7 points, with the French side edging Rena Wakama’s side 38-31 at halftime.
The Nigerian girls tried to stay with the French ladies, but their shooting in the last two quarters was not so good; they only made 13 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters, respectively.
Nigeria’s many turnovers cost them dearly, with France putting up a stellar shooting display to run out with a victory, with the encounter ending 75-54.
Persecondnews reports that Canada is up next for the D’Tigress on Sunday.
