President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to the late Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, an APC senator representing Anambra South, describing him as a distinguished entrepreneur and seasoned politician.

Ubah, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, died in a hotel in London, the United Kingdom, on Saturday.

Persecondnews recalls that in a defection move last year, Ubah switched allegiance from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The senator narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in September 2022, but unfortunately, three police escorts in his convoy lost their lives in the incident that took place at Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, on Saturday, Tinubu extended his condolences to the family and friends of the late Senator.

Tinubu extended his condolences to the National Assembly, the government, and the people of Anambra State following the passing of Ubah.

The statement added: “The President also prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed lawmaker, as well as for strength and comfort to his family.”
