Depressed Abuja EFCC operative flatlines

An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken his own life at his residence in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Persecondnews reports.

The operative, a member of Course 5, committed suicide on Monday, according to the commission’s sources.

The operative, described as a diligent, efficient, and unassuming officer, has reportedly been having problems with his immediate boss, a woman.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Dele Oyewale, said an investigation is ongoing into why the operative decided to take his life.

As of press time, the anti-graft agency has yet to release the name of the deceased operative.
