Nearly two months after a two-day marathon Federal Executive Council (FEC) was held, President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over another FEC meeting at the State House Council Chambers in Abuja.

The last FEC meeting that produced about 20 policies and projects took place roughly two months ago, according to Persecondnews

Persecondnews reports that top on the agenda of today’s meeting is the contentious minimum wage impasse involving the federal government and organized labour groups.

The Federal Government, after receiving a report from a tripartite committee recently established for this purpose, acknowledged its capacity to raise the minimum wage to N62,000.

However, organized labour, represented by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), insisted on N250,000 as the minimum wage.

President Tinubu had promised to send a bill on the national minimum wage to the National Assembly about two weeks ago.
