The Kano State Government has announced plans to demolish and renovate the palace of the deposed Emir Aminu Ado-Bayero.

Haruna Dederi, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, stated that the demolition is to pave the way for the palace renovation.

Dederi also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has received instructions to evict Bayero from his current home at the Nasarawa GRA mini palace in order to expedite the renovation process.

At a news conference in Kano, Dederi announced that the government has finalized plans for a comprehensive overhaul and renovation of the palace, including the immediate demolition and reconstruction of the deteriorated wall fence.

This development comes on the heels of a Federal High Court ruling that upheld the validity of the Kano Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024, but declared all subsequent actions taken by Governor Abba Yusuf in relation to the law null and void.
