President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have been lauded for their various interventionist programs as part of efforts to provide succor to the vulnerable and the poor amid economic hardships.

The commendation came on the heels of the presentation of hundreds of bags of rice, beans, and gari to the community development councils in Lagos State.

Receiving the palliatives, Pastor Olusegun Fayemi, the Ojodu Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman in the Ojodu Local Council Development Area, expressed appreciation to Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu for the synergy in getting palliatives to the grassroots using the CDC.

In an interview with Persecondnews at the presentation of the palliatives to the CDA Chairmen, women, and other Community leaders in the CDC, which is made up of several community development associations, Fayemi described Tinubu as a pro-poor, compassionate leader and father figure.

He also praised Sanwo-Olu, describing him as a hardworking and wonderful leader who has the interests of the masses at heart.

“These palliatives are for the vulnerable, and I hereby present them to the women leaders in the CDC to be distributed only to them.

“Women are our mothers and wives; where their mouths will reach, the legs of men cannot reach such places. They should please let the palliatives get down to the grassroots.

“We thank our indefatigable and wonderful Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for using the CDC as the closest to the grassroots for the distribution of the palliatives and for the trust and confidence reposed in the leadership of the CDC,’’ Fayemi said.

He also described the Ojodu LCDA Chairman, Hon. David Odunmbaku, as a young, dynamic, visionary leader, who is working assiduously providing health, education and infrastructure in the area.

Alhaja Bukky Badmus, the women’s leader in the area, thanked the federal and Lagos State governments for the food items and promised continued support for the administrations of President Tinubu and Gov. Sanwo-Olu.

“Our women should and will continue to rally support for our governor and Mr. President for more dividends of democracy,’’ she said.
