The Super Eagles shrugged off a sluggish first-half start to draw South Africa 1-1 in the FIFA World Cup qualifying series.
Despite having most of the possession in the first half, Themba Zwane’s goal in the 29th minute was the difference between both teams, exposing the spongy Super Eagles back line.Finidi George’s half-time team talk sparked a sense of urgency among his players before fans could settle down for the second half hostilities.

Dele Bashiru scored on his debut to even up the Nigerian side, sending fans in the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo into wild jubilation.
