Kano State Police Commissioner Mohammed Usain Gumel has announced the readiness of the command to enforce the state government’s order banning all forms of protests, gatherings, and unlawful processions.
In a press release on Wednesday, Gumel stated that SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the state’s police public relations officer, signed.
Persecondnews recalls that Kano state governor, Gov. Abba Yusuf, issued a ban against all forms of protests, gatherings, and unlawful processions in the early hours of Wednesday.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf’s spokesman, made this known in a statement.
The Commissioner of Police vowed to enforce the ban vigorously and to arrest and prosecute any guilty parties.
To guarantee compliance with the ban, the police command has strategically deployed fully equipped and motivated personnel to flashpoints in and outside the metropolis, prepared to respond promptly and effectively to any security threats.
Gumel called on the residents of Kano State to remain law-abiding, obey the order, and desist from any activity that might trigger violence, saying anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.
