An Abuja-bound train from Kaduna derailed halfway to the nation’s capital on Sunday.

The train, carrying dozens of passengers, departed Kaduna at 8:05 a.m. and derailed at Jere community about an hour later.

Around three carriages are currently off the tracks as efforts to repair the train continue, according to Persecondnews.

Despite the fact that it stopped in a mountainous area, security personnel, including soldiers and police officers, were stationed there.
