….let love lead—Wofai
Following the alleged marriage of their son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole, to social media influencer and actress Wofai Ewa, the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, has become embroiled in controversy.
Images and videos circulating on social media had depicted what appeared to be a traditional marriage ceremony between Taiwo and Wofai in Ugep, Cross River State.
However, the Cole family, through one Kunle Cole, has vehemently denied any knowledge or consent regarding this union.
After seeing videos and pictures of the purported wedding flood, Cole issued a statement on social media platforms, declaring, “The Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our son Taiwo Olakitan Cole, nor did we grant permission nor support in this regard.”
He further emphasized that individuals claiming affiliation with the Cole family based on this alleged event are neither recognized nor accepted by the family.
The statement, it claimed, served as a public disclaimer, urging acquaintances, family, and friends to disregard any publications or documents circulating about the supposed marriage.
The family claimed that they had no affiliation with the event and disapproved of any connections suggested therein.
A voice note, believed to have emerged from a conversation between the groom’s father and a concerned family member, claimed that the family was not aware of the wedding and didn’t give approval.
According to reports, the father said that his son, who is 30, couldn’t marry Wofai, who is 38, and that he had only met Wofai once, when his con came to present her as his future wife.
An unconfirmed report also claimed that the new couple hurriedly tied the knot because the wife is believed to be pregnant.
Reacting to the development that is currently gathering storms over their wedding, Wofai posted videos of their traditional wedding on Instagram with the caption “Let Love Lead.”
