The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, is set to strengthen the security architecture in the capital city with the introduction of a security drone system equipped with real-time aerial surveillance cameras and data-gathering sensors.

Wike said during a visit on Thursday to the Consul-General of the Hungarian Embassy in Nigeria, Endre Deri, that “Abuja is safer now because of the way we have been able to tackle the issue.”

He pointed out that security is a key focus in President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, hence the need for new strategies and security equipment to curb insecurity.

The minister emphasized that the security measures implemented in the FCT have begun to show positive outcomes, highlighting a significant decrease in insecurity incidents.

“You too can attest to the fact that Abuja is safer now because of the way we have been able to tackle the issue.”
