Breaking: Abeokuta gas tanker explosion claims four lives, ignites six vehicles

A gas tanker explosion in the Ita-Oshin area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, has left a trail of devastation, with at least four people dead and six vehicles consumed.

The vehicles razed included taxis, a private car, and a truck, with shops and houses on the road also destroyed.

Persecondnews reports that the explosion occurred when the gas tanker reportedly fell.

Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps and fire fighters, swiftly mobilized to the scene to evacuate the remains of the victims and contain the inferno.

Witnesses said those injured have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre and the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta, by earlier response teams.
