Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwondo has reportedly survived a boat mishap.
“He is alive and taking treatment in a hospital,” the Actor Guild of Nigeria said on Wednesday in reaction to media reports that confirmed him dead.
On Wednesday, April 10, authorities reported the movie star and three of his colleagues dead after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State.
The Nollywood stars were returning from a movie shoot when the incident occurred.
On Wednesday night, a post on the Actor Guild of Nigeria’s Instagram page confirmed that Junior Pope is still alive and currently undergoing hospital treatment.
The post read: “Junior Pope is alive. He is taking treatment in the hospital.”
