Mr. Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd., has received the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations’ 2024 Distinguished Spokesperson in Oil and Gas Award.

Mr. Soneye was honoured “in recognition of his exceptional performance in promoting the iconic brand of Africa’s largest oil and gas company” at a ceremony organized by the Institute held on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Soneye, who was represented by the NNPCL’s head of Relationship and Stakeholders Management, Mrs. Oluwakemi Olumuyiwa, at the awards, dedicated the prize to Mr. Mele Kyari, the group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., whose unwavering support and guidance have been crucial in performing his role as NNPCL spokesman.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the entire corporate communications team of the company for their efficiency and valuable teamwork.

“This award is for the whole team, and it will serve as motivation to continue striving for excellence in representing NNPC Ltd., the sector, while upholding the highest standards of communications.” Mr. Soneye stated.

The National Spokespersons’ Awards are Nigeria’s highest award, given to exceptional spokespersons who have excelled in corporate communications, public affairs, politics, the media, advocacy, and other fields, having shown exceptional eloquence, integrity, and effectiveness in their roles as spokespersons.
