A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, who was a staunch supporter of 2023 presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has jumped ship and shifted his support to President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Siminalayi Fubara.

Dr. Abiye Sekibo, a former Minister of Transportation and ex-Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, announced this at a news briefing in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

It is not clear yet if the former minister is leading his supporters to Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC).

Present at the briefing were a former National Chairman of the PDP, Secondus; a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara; Celestine Omehia, an ex-Deputy Governor of the state, Tele Ikuru; Senator Lee Maeba; and a one-time Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, among others, members of the presidential campaign council.
