Bandits on Saturday night attacked worshippers who were observing Ramadan prayers at Mairuwa village in the Faskari local government area of Katsina State and killed some of them.

During the attack, at least two people were shot dead and another was injured, reports Persecondnews.

One of the casualties was a well-known politician, businessman, and large-scale farmer, Alhaji Lado.

Another victim was said to be a health worker simply identified as Sani.

“He worked at the Mairuwa Health Facility,” a witness said

According to a source, the victim was killed because he defied his killers’ orders.

“They opened fire on him when they attempted to kidnap him but he refused to follow them,” the source said.

A survivor of the mosque attack said the attackers kidnapped the wife and two daughters of Alhaji Lado.
