Bello Bodejo, the head of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore group, was charged with offences relating to terrorism on Friday at an Abuja Federal High Court.

The Federal Government accused Bodejo of founding and aiding Kungiya Zaman Lafiya, an ethnic militia group.

The office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) levied a three-count charge against him.

He had broken the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, according to the AGF’s office.

Persecondnews reports that Bodejo entered a “not-guilty” plea to the offences.

Judge Inyang Ekwo gave an order for him to be held in the Defence Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) custody.

Trial has been adjourned until May 27.
