Mr. Ibu’s body arrives in Enugu, family set to announce burial plans

The body of renowned Nigerian actor, Charles Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, was on Tuesday morning welcomed with solemnity in Enugu State.

The body had arrived the coal city, Enough, from Lagos State accompanied by members of his grieving family, including his second, son.

Persecondnews reports that representatives of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) also accompanied the corpse to its final resting place.

The iconic actor, who passed away at the age of 62 after battling a prolonged illness, left a legacy of humour, laughter and memorable performances.

His passing marked the end of an era for Nigerian cinema, as he was widely celebrated for his comedic talent and versatile acting skills.

According to sources close to the family, Mr. Ibu had been recuperating at home before his health condition deteriorated, necessitating his return to the hospital.

Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to cardiac arrest days later, leaving behind a void in the hearts of his fans and colleagues.

The news of his passing reverberated across Nigeria, with tributes pouring in from fellow actors, fans, and admirers alike.

Known for his larger-than-life persona on screen, Mr. Ibu endeared himself to audiences with his infectious humour and impeccable comic timing.

As the Enugu community mourns the loss of one of its most beloved sons, preparations are underway for Mr. Ibu’s final journey.

His body has been deposited at the morgue of the Ebeano Medical Centre in Enugu just as his family plans a befitting burial for the late actor.
