Nigerian football lovers have been fired up with the cheering news of Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali being declared fit by camp doctors ahead of the crucial encounter with Angola.

The team media officer, Babafemi Raji, while appearing on Channels TV on Friday, disclosed that the Chipa United goaltender “trained yesterday with the rest of the team.”

Nwabali, who was stretchered off in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over bitter rivals Cameroon in a Round of 16 game last Saturday, passed a late fitness test on Thursday.

He said that, in line with the Super Eagles slogan heading to the AFCON, #LetsDoitagain, he assured that the team is ready to replicate the success of 2013.

“Nwabali trained yesterday. He trained the day before yesterday. But yesterday was much more intense.

“So, it simply means he is available for selection today. For him to have trained yesterday with the rest of the team means that he is very much available for selection.

“In terms of who gets to start, it is the coach’s decision to make. But he is very much available for selection for today’s match.

“We have this mantra coming into this AFCON; our camping slogan is ‘Let’s Do It Again’. We are doing everything to match this slogan; we have done it before, and we deserve to win it again.”
