Fire destroys Lagos island skyscraper

The well-known Mandilas building in the neighbourhood was shaken by the fire, which started on the first story and spread to the fourth.

10-storey building on Broad Street on Lagos Island has caught fire, Persecondnews reports.

However, the cause of the fire and casualties are yet unknown.

Mrs Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service disclosed on Sunday.

The well-known Mandilas building in the neighbourhood was shaken by the fire, which started on the first story and spread to the fourth.

Adeseye said emergency personnel from the Sari-Iganmu and Ebute Elefun fire stations are on the scene in an effort to stop the situation from getting worse and restore order.
