Barely three months in office, Ms Halima Shehu, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), has been suspended.

Citing financial impropriety, a government statement on Tuesday said President Bola Tinubu has ordered an investigation into her activities in the agency.

Dr Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-Power Programme Manager, has been directed to take over from her.

Persecondnews recalls that her appointment was confirmed about three months ago by the Senate.

Halima was a former National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme of the Buhari administration.

She had also worked in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
