Renowned skit creator, Abdulgafar Abiola, widely known as CuteAbiola, has addressed long-standing rumours surrounding a romantic involvement with popular actress Biodun Okeowo, also known as Omobutty.

The rumours, it was gathered, originated from a past skit where CuteAbiola was photographed with his hands on Omobutty’s waist, triggering a wave of speculations regarding their relationship.

Despite the passage of time since the incident, CuteAbiola has seized the opportunity to firmly assert that their association was purely professional, devoid of any romantic undertones.

In a recent statement, he clarified: “Keeping quiet at that time didn’t mean I did what people said I did. Then who are you to force me to come and explain what happened and what never happened.

“People just cooked up stories and started flying it around as the real picture of things. Nothing of such happened between us”

CuteAbiola explained that he chose not to address the rumours immediately, thereby adopting a strategy of allowing the speculations to naturally subside.

He further emphasised his reluctance to engage with baseless stories, particularly those circulating on social media platforms.

The skit maker categorically dismissed alleged Instagram conversations that were presented as “evidence of a romantic connection” as entirely fabricated.

He noted that the aftermath of the rumours took a toll on the relationship between him and Omobutty, leading to a temporary cessation of communication between them in the height of the controversy.
