Amid protests rocking Abuja, demanding his resignation, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, said on Thursday that he is unbothered and untroubled by what he called noises by the paid protesters.

He said he is rather focused on delivering on the mandate of President Bola Tinubu in the FCT.

The Minister made this known during the flag off of remedial work on existing Asokoro and Wuse roads.

Persecondnews recalls that on Wednesday, scores of indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory and members civil society groups had marched to the National Assembly complex, demanding the immediate sack and prosecution of Wike as Minister of FCT.

In response to their demands, Wike said everybody is entitled to their opinion “but what is important is, your opinion must be in line with what is good for FCT.”

“We can’t continue to do the same thing the same way and expect to achieve different results. We have taken decision to make sure that our people are happy, and we are firm, bold and courageous with our decision.

“Mr President has given us a mandate to make the people happy, and I assure you, we will do the best for our people as mandated by the President.

“In policy making it may not favor everybody but what is important is the generality of the people, not few people who benefits at the detriment of others.

“When you bring a policy that will bring change so many will kick against it. When you are focused and firm they have no choice but to align themselves with the policies of government.”
