A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to a bail in the sum of N300 million.

Persecondnews recalls that the bail is coming four months after a Federal High Court in Lagos admitted Emefiele to a bail in the sum of N20 million.

Ruling on Emefiele’s bail application on Wednesday, Justice Hamza Muazu also ordered him to produce two sureties in the sum of N300 million.

Muazu said the sureties must have Certificates of Occupancy and titles of properties within the Maitama District of the FCT as part of the bail conditions.

Emefiele has been ordered to deposit all his travel documents with the Registrar of the court and must remain within the Abuja Municipal Council.

Emefiele will, however, remain in Kuje Correctional Centre (prison) until the bail conditions will be perfected.
