Amid ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, Gov. Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor and political godfather, Mr Nyesom Wike, met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

The duo is attending the Nigeria Police Council (NPC) meeting, consisting of 36 state governors and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Persecondnews gathered that the NPC, chaired by President Bola Tinubu, met last on June 4, 2021 presided over by the then President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Fubara and political godfather Wike had exchanged pleasantries before the commencement of the meeting at the Presidential Villa.

The development is coming barely 24 hours after the foiled impeachment attempt on Fubara, allegedly orchestrated by loyalists of the FCT Minister.

Fubara had recently sacked some of his aides including the Chief of Staff, who are believed to be loyalists of Wike.
