The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal has declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the People’s Democratic Party as the winner of the February 25 senatorial election in Kogi Central, and sacked Sen. Abubakar Ohere of APC.

While nullifying the election of Ohere as earlier announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Tribunal Chairman, Justice K. A. Orjiako, said the results were inflated and falsified in nine polling units of Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.

Orjiako, who read the unanimous judgment of the three-man panel, said in contrast, Natasha’s vote was intentionally reduced in the areas by INEC as well as three other polling units result that was deliberately not entered for Natasha in the same local government areas.

The court after making the necessary corrections, declared Natasha of the PDP the winner of the election, having polled 54,074 votes to beat Ohere with 2783 votes.

It, however, gave Ohere of APC 51,291 votes.
