“Keyamo was accused of disrespecting and scandalizing the 9th National Assembly under Buhari administration by levelling allegations of corruption against it”

After a stormy session in the Senate following a motion to suspend the screening of ministerial nominee, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN), Senate President Godswill Akpabio has run to the Presidential Villa ostensibly to confer with President Bola Tinubu.

Keyamo, nominee from Delta State, had served in the immediate past administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari as the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity with Dr Chris Ngige as the senior minister.

Persecondnews reports that the motion to suspend the screening of Keyamo was sponsored by Sen. Darlington Nwokocha (Abia Central) and was seconded by Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South).

Speaking on the motion, Nwokocha accused Keyamo of disrespecting and scandalizing the 9th National Assembly under Buhari administration by leveling allegations of corruption against it.

He recalled that Keyamo was summoned by the 9th Assembly to clarify issues on the Federal Government’s Special Public Works Programme for youths in the 774 local governments which he (Keyamo) presided over which smacks of transparency.

Nwokocha said Keyamo, however, spurned the lawmakers’ invitation which he described as disrespectful.
