“Describing the task of growing the economy as quite enormous, Tinubu declared:”There no excuse for failures. The administration, he said, was committed to delivering on the promises it made to Nigerians”

Another bold and proactive stride has been taken by President Bola Tinubu with the inauguration on Thursday of the National Economic Council (NEC).

The Council is chaired by Vice-President Kashim Shettima with the 36 state governors, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and other co-opted government officials as members.

While inaugurating the council at the State House, Abuja, the President urged members to support his administration in transforming the nation’s economy.

Describing the task of growing the economy as quite enomous, Tinubu declared:”There no excuse for failures.”

The administration, he said, was committed to delivering on the promises it made to Nigerians.

Persecondnews reports that the council which immediately went into a closed-door meeting, is expected to meet monthly to among others advise the President concerning the economic affairs of the Federation and in particular on measures necessary for the coordination of the economic planning efforts or economic programmes of the various governments of the Federation.
