Breaking: Chief Raymond Dokpesi, AIT/RayPower FM founder, exits

Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications Plc, owners of AIT/RayPower FM, has died.
The chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) died at the age of 71 at a hospital in Abuja during an illness, according to a family member.
Dokpesi had suffered a stroke shortly after the recent Ramadan fast and had been battling with it, Persecondnews learnt.
The family source said Dokpesi was eventually placed on occupational therapy to improve his daily activities through walking out at the gym.
During one of his routine gym exercises, Dokpesi was reportedly electrocuted while using one of the gym equipment, leading to stroke and his eventual death.
His parents are from Agenebode, Edo state, Dokpesi is survived by children, grandchildren and wives as well as six siblings, all women.
In 2020, Raymond Dokpesi and members of his family were hospitalized at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital after they were diagnosed with COVID-19. They, however, survived the disease.
Dokpesi will be remembered for establishing the first private television and radio stations in Nigeria in the early 1990s.
Persecondnews recalls that Dokpesi had served as the Deputy Director-General,  Technical and Systems of Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 elections.
