Ghanaian player, Christian Atsu, earlier reported rescued, found dead in Turkey-Syrian quake rubble

Christian Atsu Twasam was a Ghanaian professional footballer who last played for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor and the Ghana national team.

Ghanaian footballer, Christian Atsu, who had earlier been reported rescued some days ago and has not been seen since, has been found dead in the earthquake rubble in Turkey.

His manager, Murat Uzunmehmet, told DHA News Agency on Saturday that his body had been found under the rubble in the Turkish southern province of Hatay.

“We have reached his lifeless body. His belongings are still being removed. His phone was also found,” Uzunmehmet told DHA.

The 31-year-old played for the Turkish Super league club, Hatayspor, and the Ghanaian National team.

Christian Atsu Twasam was a Ghanaian professional footballer who last played for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor and the Ghana national team.

He primarily played as a winger, although he was also deployed as an attacking midfielder.

Born on Jan. 10, 1992, Atsu began his career with Porto, also spending a season on loan at Rio Ave.
