The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) in the Northern axis says it has rescinded its earlier decision not to sell petrol as directed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd at N195 per liter, and has asked the fling stations of its members to reopen with immediate effect and continue selling.

In a letter addressed to all marketers titled, `Re-Suspension of service’’ dated February 7, 2023, the IPMAN’s Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Kuluwa, directed members to continue to sell petroleum products to the public while the association will continue further consultations with the authorities.

It stated: “Having met with the concerned authority, all filling stations should open with immediate effect and continue selling. While the association continues with further consultation and accordingly keep you informed. Thank you for usual cooperation.’’

Persecondnews recalls that IPMAN had on Tuesday directed members to suspend all operations and also suspend the payment of ordering products from source until further notice.

The association said the decision followed “the critical situation as it affects our sourcing and selling of product at lost (sic) and the action of the authority to impose the selling of product at a lost price (sic) on our side”.

“You are all hereby directed to suspend selling at all filling stations and also suspend payment of ordering products from source until further notice,” the statement said.

IPMAN had said regulatory agencies enforced the pump price of petrol at N195 per litre at all filling stations across the country.

On Monday, IPMAN Western Zone branch had asked for more time from the Federal Government to enable them sell off their current petrol stocks before complying with the official price of N195..
