A year after being deported for being unvaccinated for COVID-19, Novak Djokovic returns roaring really hard at Melbourne, as he triumphed over Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6, 7-6, at the Australian Open finals.

Novak sobbed uncontrollably as he won his 10th Australian Open title and 22 grand slam in total, he will also return to no.1 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings on Monday for 374th week and counting.

The 35-year-old Serbian, detained and deported, over his unvaccinated status in January 2022 for COVID-19, equalled Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 grand slam, after his two hours 56 minutes victory at Rod Laver Arena.

He said:”What a journey it has been for my family my team and myself. I appreciate the patience and love you are giving me.

“This has been one of the most challenging tournaments I have ever played in my life, not playing last year, coming back this year and I want to thank all the people who made me feel comfortable.

“There’s a reason I have played my best tennis on this court. Only the team knows what we have been through in the last five weeks, this is the biggest victory of my life considering the circumstances.”

Tsitsipas couldn’t match Djokovic’s relentless and unbreakable serve, only in the third game of the second set did Tsitsipas look like he might ruffle Djokovic momentum.
