Just in: INEC releases list of presidential candidates, running mates for 2023 poll, Tinubu, Atiku, Obi confirmed

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday published the final list of Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates of all the political parties approved to contest the 2023 polls.

On the list are: Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, is the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party with Delta  Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, ex-Borno Gov. Kashim Shettima also made the list.

Others are: The Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC),  Dumebi Kachikwu, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi and Baba-Ahmed Datti Yusuf, his running mate.

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party is Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his running mate is Isaac Idahosa.

The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore stands as the flagbearer of the African Action Congress, while the vice presidential candidate of the party is, Magashi Haruna Garba.

Meanwhile, INEC has urged political parties to forward any observation on the list of candidates, insisting that such observation must be signed by the National Chairman and Secretary of the political party and supported with an affidavit as provided in section 32(2) of the Electoral Act 2022.
