Amid speculations of alleged graft for several months, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, has been arrested while trying to jet out of the country.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) trailed and apprehended him on Thursday morning at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, while trying to board a flight to U.S.
Persecondnews learnt that the Speaker, an ally of Gov. Dapo Abiodun had been invited by the EFCC several times but he failed to honour the invitations.
Meanwhile, Oluomo has been whisked away to the Lagos office of the anti-graft agency for interrogation.
Some lawmakers had alerted of billions of naira fraud at the House of Assembly Commission.
