NFF President, Amaju Pinnick: No third term for me

The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has dismissed suggestions in some quarters that he plans to run for the Federation’s Presidency for the third time.

The two-term President promised to work with whoever succeeds him in the forthcoming elections scheduled to hold in September 2022.

Pinnick who made the clarification on Arise TV on Monday monitored by Persecondnews, said: “There are so many Nigerians that are capable of being the NFF President. I will assist and work with anyone who wins the elections.

“I will work with whoever emerges as NFF President. That I promise. I will intervene but will not intefere.”

Persecondnews recalls that Pinnick, who is the first Nigerian to win as NFF President for two consecutive times, had earlier declared that he would not contest for the same position after Super Eagles failed to qualify for the World Cup.

However, the NFF has been foot-dragging on scheduling their Annual General Assembly (AGA) which sets the ball rolling for the Elective Congress.

That seems to be over as the federation has set September 18, 2022, for the AGA in Lagos State.
