National Integration: NIPR partners 70 organizations on August 23 citizens’ summit

As the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in partnership with 70 organizations holds the grand finale of its Citizens Summit for National Integration, Peace and Security in Abuja scheduled for August, the need to promote national integration, rebuild peace, and strengthen security takes centre stage.

The theme of the summit scheduled for Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022, holding at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, is:”Reopen Conversation, Rebuild Trust”.

The NIPR President, Mallam Mukhtar Sirajo, who announced this, named Dr. (Mrs) Dere Awosika, the Chairman of Access Bank Plc as the summit Chair.

He said the two-day event offers a significant platform for Nigerians to engage on important issues of nation-building, describing the summit as a solution driven initiative to address issues of national cohesion and reconciliation for national development.

“The  conference is designed to bridge the widening trust gap between the leaders and the citizens, as well as amongst  the citizens, through promotion of national integration and enhancement of cross country peaceful co-existence,” he said.

Sirajo stressed the importance of trust in governance, adding that the summit could not have come at a better time than now.

He said it will feature presentation of reports of the Zonal Dialogue Series, plenary, syndicate sessions and other activities with the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Muhammed, Dr. Audu Ogbe, a former Minister of Agriculture and Prof. Anya O. Anya expected to be in attendance.

Other notable keynote speakers are Barr. (Mrs) Adepeju Jaiyeoba,  Rev. Ladi Thompson, Dr. James Komolafe, and Dr. Ahmed Isah.
