Just in: Defecting Oyo Deputy Governor lmpeached

For daring to defect from the ruling PDP in Oyo State, Deputy Governor Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan has been impeached.

Olaniyan was sacked by the People’s Democratic Party-dominated State House of Assembly on Monday.

Persecondnews reports that the deputy governor, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) two months ago, was removed from office about 11:30 am by the lawmakers.

The lawmakers had at their plenary on Monday announced that they impeached the deputy governor following the adoption of recommendations of the seven-man panel set up to investigate him for abuse of office.

The panel’s report was read by the Majority Leader of the House, Mr Sanjo Adedoyin  (Ogbomoso state constituency).
