‘Nothing but speculation and conjecture’: Court acquits Ochuko Momoh, wife of ex-PPMC MD, of money laundering charges

A federal high court in Abuja has discharged and acquitted Ochuko Momoh, wife of a former Managing Director of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company,Haruna Momoh.

The Justice Taiwo Taiwo noted that the case brought by the ICPC was based on mere speculation and conjecture.

Ochuko Momoh, alongside Blessing Azuka-Agozi, StanbicIBTC Bank Plc, Energopol Nigeria Limited, Blaid Construction Limited, and Blaid Farms Limited were arraigned on a 22-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N3 billion.

Justice Taiwo, held that the prosecution failed to discharge the burden of proving its case against the defendants beyond a reasonable doubt, ordered the discharge of an earlier interim forfeiture order made against Ochuko and her two firms – Blaid Construction and Blaid Farms.
