The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the screening of its presidential aspirants ahead of the primary election scheduled for between June 6 and 8, 2022.
Persecondnews gathered that the exercise is being conducted secretly at a popular hotel in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
About 28 aspirants have so far picked the APC presidential nomination and expression of interest forms sold at N100 million.
Meanwhile, former Edo State governor and former National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has emerged the Chairman of the screening committee.
Persecondnews reports that among the 28 presidential aspirants to be screened by the Committe include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, and former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
Others are ex-Ogun governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Cross River Gov. Ben Ayade, and his Ebonyi counterpart, Gov. Dave Umahi.
Also in the race are the the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum and Ekiti Gov. Kayode Fayemi, erstwhile President of the Senate, Chief Ken Nnamani, Kigi Gov. Yahaya Bello and Jigawa Governor, Mohammed Abubakar.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan, former Zamfara Gov. Ahmed Yerima, the only female aspirant, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohnenye; Pastor Nicholas Nwagbo and a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Dimeji Bankole are on the list to be screened.
