In its drive to mobilize more support for its activities and the Super Eagles, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) has inducted Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cameroon, retired Gen. Gabriel Abayomi Olonisakin as a patron.

Olonisakin, according to a statement by the club’s Media Officer, Peter Ejiofor, was inducted on Thursday in Garoua, Cameroon, where the club is currently cheering the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Decorating the seasoned Ambassador, the President-General of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr Rafiu Ladipo, described Olonisakin as a lover of sports, urging him to continue in his love and support for his “pastime love’’.

Contributing, the National Chairman of the NFSC, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, apparently excited by the Super Eagles’ performance so far, thanked him for his support since the club’s arrival in Cameroon.

“Sir, you deserve this new position of a patron in our club because of your sterling qualities and the support you have given to us since our arrival in Cameroon.

“You are indeed a good Ambassador worthy to be associated with,’’ Ikpea said in the statement given to Persecondnews.com on Friday.

The chairman, who was optimistic of the Nigerian team lifting the Cup, promised to visit the Ambassador with the club members with the trophy before their departure to Nigeria.

Accepting the laurel, the new patron, who spoke glowingly of the NFSC as the foremost supporters club in Nigeria, promised to continue with his support for the club and to ensure maximum comfort and security for them during their stay in Cameroon.
