The prowling gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have struck in Edo State, abducting the Etsako Central Divisional Police Officer (DPO), DSP Ibrahim Aliyu lshaq. The incident has sent fear into people of Fugar, the headquarters of the local government area.

The DPO, who was driving on Friday evening, was forced to a halt near Ise River on the old Auchi-Ekperi-Agenebode road, Persecondnews.com reports.

The kidnappers, it was learnt, shot sporadically into the air to halt the DPO’s car before he was seized ‎and whisked away into the bush.
The abductors have put calls through to demand the sum of N50 million ransom.
In a swift reaction, the State Police Commissioner, Philip Ogbadu, has ordered operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit, the Tactical and Srike Teams of the Command to comb the bush to rescue the DPO unhurt.
