Following insecurity that prevented INEC from conducting election in 362 polling units in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, the Commission has declared Saturday’s governorship poll inconclusive.
A supplementary poll will now be conducted on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, according to the Returning Officer for the governorship election, Prof. Florence Obi.
Obi, who cited the 1999 Constitution in declaring the poll inconclusive, insisted that election must hold in the 362 polling units for the process to be deemed conclusive.

“Election did not take place in Ihiala because there were reports of insecurity in the area.”
