“I was instrumental to the exit of three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to the APC. The governors are Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawale of Zamfara State”

I’m wooing the governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed to join the ruling party”

After several months of speculations and hobnobbing with his friend, Kogi Gov. Yahaya Bello, a former Minister of Aviation in the ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo administration, Femi Fani-Kayode has jumped ship and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC and Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Persecondnews recalls that Fani-Kayode has been under probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged graft and malfeasance while he served as minister of aviation.

The case is still pending in the law courts.

The politician has been a strident opposition voice and recalcitrant critic of President Buhari, his party and administration.

Fani-Kayode said that “he was led by the Spirit of God in his decision and that he joined the APC to help foster the unity of the country”.

According to him, he is against anything that would cause the disintegration of Nigeria.

“I was instrumental to the exit of three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to the APC,” the Ile-lfe, Osun-born politician said.

The governors are Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawale of Zamfara State.

On efforts to get more PDP chieftains to board the APC ship, Fani-Kayode said he has friends across the parties and would “woo” three more governors to join the ruling party.

“I’m wooing the governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed to join the ruling party.”
