Violence on Monday erupted at Ile-Epo Market in Oke-Odo area of Agege in Lagos following a clash between commercial motorcyclists (Okada) and the police.

The clash followed alleged killing of an okada rider by a policeman at Ile-Epo.

During the face-off, the entire market was immediately deserted by traders as angry youths went on the rampage and attacked the Ile-Epo police station.

Unconfirmed sources said policemen attached to the Ile-Epo police station killed an okada rider which triggered the violence.

However, the hoodlums mobilized and attempted to burn the Ile-Epo police station but were dispelled.

A source told Persecondnews that a detachment of policemen had been deployed in the area with an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) also stationed there.
