Mr Mohammed Adamu, who attained retirement age on February 1, 2021, has been given three months tenure extension as the Inspector-General of Police.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Mohammad Dingyadi, told State House correspondents on Thursday in Abuja that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the tenure elongation.
Justifying the president’s action, Dingyadi said it was to “give room for proper selection of a successor.”
