Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has raised an alarm that Boko Haram insurgents have regrouped at the Nasarawa/Benue border after they were dislodged from Toto council area of the state.
He said the insurgents have turned the border as base from where they launch attacks on the state.
Sule has, therefore, sent a Save-Our-Soul to President Muhammadu Buhari over the activities of the terrorists.
“The terrorists had been dislodged from Toto local government where they had camped.
“They have regrouped at the Nasarawa/Benue border from where they now launch attacks on the state,” he told State House correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja on Friday.
“We discussed the security situation in the state among other issues including the possible federal government take-over of Jitata road which serves as an alternative route from the state to the FCT, ” the governor said.
According to him, the terrorists active in the Nasarawa State belong to the Darussalam group that had been dislodged from Niger State.
“Following a joint security operation, a lot of them were killed while 900 were arrested.”
Sule said those arrested confirmed their membership of Boko Haram.
